The “farm bug” has always been under Michael’s skin, but there isn’t much farming you can do on a one-acre property in a subdivision located in Bear, Delaware. With Andrea’s encouragement and thoughts of running a small homestead business, Michael and Andrea started looking for a new place to call home — one that could accommodate the farm animals, gardens, and additional dwellings they wanted.

In January 2020, on their 5th wedding anniversary, they purchased their property on Smyrna Landing Road in Smyrna, Delaware. After more than one and a half years, they added a large vegetable garden and various flower gardens. They also have coops for their chickens, ducks, and turkeys. They currently plan on adding pigs, goats, and other animals to the farm.

Huck and Buck Farm-Sanctuary hosts various events like birthdays, baby showers, weddings, corporate picnics, farm-to-table wine tastings, and more. We also offer camping accommodations through Hip Camp and Airbnb. We’ll be offering more Airbnb opportunities soon.
